AI and your content

Last updated 8 November 2026

The short version. Bennu uses AI to plan, write and make posts, built around your own photos and clips. You approve every post. Posts with AI images or video are labelled as AI on the networks by default. You own your posts, and we never use your content for anyone else.

1. What AI does in Bennu

Our privacy policy explains what each kind of company gets and where it is. You can ask us for the names of the companies we use at help@heybennu.com, and we’ll tell you.

2. Your own photos and clips come first

Customers trust real work most. So reels are made from your own clips first, then your photos with a gentle pan and zoom. AI video is only used for short moments, at most 3 seconds in any reel. If you don’t have enough clips or photos for a reel, Bennu makes a carousel instead and keeps the reel for later.

For pictures, you choose: your own photos, AI images, or a mix.

3. You stay in charge

  • Nothing goes out until you approve it, unless you turn on automatic posting.
  • You can change any post, ask for a redo or skip it.
  • Bennu learns from what you approve, skip and change. What it learns is shown to you in Insights, and nothing about how your posts are planned changes until you agree.
  • While our quality check is on, a person on our team also looks at posts before they go out.

4. AI labels

When a post uses AI images or AI video, we tell the network it is AI-made when we publish it. That turns on:

  • Instagram’s “AI info” label
  • TikTok’s AI-generated content label
  • YouTube’s label for altered or synthetic content

This is on by default. You can switch it off in Account under “Label AI-made posts”. If you do, it’s up to you to follow each network’s rules on labelling AI content. On Instagram, a label can’t be changed after a post is published.

Posts made only from your own photos and clips are never labelled, because they aren’t AI-made.

5. What Bennu won’t make

  • An AI-made person presenting your business. People in your posts are you, your team or customers in your own photos, or a clearly cartoon character.
  • Fake reviews, fake testimonials or made-up customer stories.
  • Fake before and after photos. Those must be your real work.
  • Lookalikes of real people, celebrities, or other businesses’ brands and characters.

Bennu is also told to use only the prices, offers and claims in your profile and on your website.

Our acceptable use policy lists what you can’t ask Bennu to make.

6. Who owns what

  • You own what you upload, and you own the posts Bennu makes for you. If we have any rights in them, we transfer them to you.
  • The law on copyright in material made by AI is still developing in the UK and elsewhere. Purely AI-made parts of a post may not be protected by copyright in the same way as your own photos. This means we can’t stop someone else making something similar.
  • AI tools sometimes make similar results for similar requests, so another business could end up with a post that looks a bit like yours. We never copy one customer’s posts for another.
  • We keep our rights in Bennu itself, including its software, templates and methods.

Our terms of service set this out in full.

7. Your content and AI training

  • We don’t use your photos, clips, posts or words to train AI models.
  • The AI companies we use don’t use what we send them to train their models, under their terms with us.
  • Bennu does learn from anonymised patterns across all customers, such as which kinds of posts are approved most often. Those patterns contain no content and no business details. Our privacy policy explains how this works.
  • Your content is never shared with, shown to or used in posts for any other customer.

8. Research

Bennu researches your industry, your area and the businesses whose posts you told it you like, using public websites and public posts. It looks for patterns, such as which topics and formats work, and local events and seasons. It never copies another business’s words, photos or videos into your posts.

9. Please check your posts

AI can get things wrong. It can misread a website, get a date or a price wrong, or say something in a way you wouldn’t. Bennu is built to stick to the facts you’ve given it, but please read each post before you approve it. You are responsible for what you publish.

If Bennu makes something that worries you, email help@heybennu.com.
